Fay Weldon, a writer who surely need no introduction, is the latest to appear in an Ascribe recommendation.

Carol McGrath's The Handfasted Wife was originally planned as a digital-only experiment by its publisher Accent, however the author insisted on at least print-on-demand before signing the contract and they are probably glad she did as it made a considerable dent in the Amazon Top 100 Historical Fiction chart. (The cover quotes from Ms Weldon can not have done any harm).

The second in the series, The Swan Daughter, is released this month and the trilogy is to be concluded with The Betrothed Sister.

Also featuring this week is George Patrick Dovel's The Geometry Of Vengeance, recommended by bestselling author GM Ford, who is reportedly impressed by the diligence and care with which Ascribe is being run.

As we approach the 100 titles mark it seems an appropriate time to announce that the site had over 700 views last week, with Recent Submissions having been viewed in total almost 2,000 times which is very encouraging in light of the fact that Ascribe only went live at the end of March.
